PATROL
Often referred to as the "backbone of the department," this
group of employees consists of the uniformed officers driving marked
police vehicles that most people will have contact with on a day-to-day basis.
Officers are tasked with conducting proactive patrol of their areas to
prevent crime, identify conditions which foster criminal activity,
identify criminal acts and their perpetrators, and lawfully make arrests
and write citations to violators, as needed.
Patrol officers are expected to take a leading role in
the community and identify partnerships to enhance public safety in our
community. |
