Police Pursuit

This morning at 2:09 a.m., Los Alamitos Police Officers initiated a vehicle pursuit of a gold late model Honda Accord after it failed to stop for a red light and did not yield as officers attempted to stop it. The pursuit originated in the area of Seal Beach Boulevard and Lampson Avenue in the City of Seal Beach, and continued south on Seal Beach Boulevard reaching speeds in excess of 80 mph. Lasting approximately 2 minutes, the pursuit terminated in the area of Electric and Ocean Avenues in Seal Beach after the suspect vehicle collided with several parked cars in the residential neighborhood. Both the driver, Israel Arvea-Santos, and his unidentified passenger sustained injuries as a result of the accident. Both suspects were treated at the scene by the Orange County Fire Authority, and subsequently transported to local hospitals. No other citizens were involved or injured in the pursuit.

Arvea-Santos was arrested for CVC 2800.3, causing serious bodily injuries while evading police. He will be booked at Orange County Jail after receiving medical clearance.
