The LAW has come
to Town... Los Al Watch
The Police
Department invites everyone who lives, works, or is involved with
schools in our town to sign-up for and participate in a new
communication method from the Community Outreach Program.
Los Al Watch
is an e-mail service focused on delivering timely information on crime
and fraud prevention, police activity, and community topics, right to
your computer at home or work. By using separate lists for each
neighborhood, the Police Department can direct information to a
particular area should a need arise. This will include crime
bulletins, safety concerns for specific neighborhoods, and informing
residents of a community meeting for their block.
The LAW
consists of mailing lists that you can subscribe to for your specific
neighborhood or interest in the City. Most e-mail will direct
users to specific information contained on the Police Department website
through the use of text and hyperlinks. Brief e-mail newsletters
will be distributed approximately once a month, and special bulletins
can be sent if a need arises.
Today's
families are on the go and time is precious. It is the Police
Department's hope that important information can be disseminated to the
members of our community regularly so that it can be read and acted upon
on your schedule. This method is not designed to replace
neighborhood meetings if they are desired by the residents, but is meant
to enhance the communication and partnership between residents and their
Police Department.
Printed
copies of the bulletins will be available at the Police Department for
those without Internet access.
